General & Process

Where is Upnet based?

Upnet is based in Arusha, Tanzania, and focuses on digital products for businesses in East Africa.

What is your development methodology?

We work iteratively, sharing progress and gathering feedback as the project moves forward.

Do you offer custom designs or use templates?

We shape the design and implementation around your brand, users, and business requirements.

Can we start small and scale later?

A project can be scoped in phases. We can discuss an initial version and document any planned follow-on work in the proposal.

Payments & Integrations

Can you integrate local mobile money services?

We can discuss options such as M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, and other providers. Feasibility depends on provider access and project requirements.

Can you help with international payment gateways?

We can assess payment gateway options against your market, provider access, and technical requirements during project scoping.

Can you build M-Pesa collections or disbursements?

The available flows depend on provider approvals and access. We will confirm feasibility and responsibilities before including an integration in the scope.

Can a product work well on low-bandwidth connections?

Low-bandwidth use can be considered during design. Caching, offline behavior, and performance requirements are agreed for each project.

Technology & Security

What tech stack do you use?

We primarily build with React/Next.js for frontends, and Laravel (PHP) or Node.js for robust backends. For mobile, we use React Native or Flutter for high-performance cross-platform experiences.

How do you handle data security?

Security requirements and controls are scoped for each product. The agreed approach, hosting responsibilities, and any third-party dependencies should be documented before work begins.

Who owns the source code?

Source-code and intellectual-property terms are set out in the signed project agreement, including any third-party components or licenses.

Where is the data stored?

Data storage depends on the project and hosting provider. We will explain the hosting setup and relevant data-handling details before work begins.

After-Launch & Support

Do you provide hosting services?

Hosting can be discussed as part of the project. The provider, security responsibilities, backups, and ongoing support should be confirmed in the written scope.

What kind of support is available?

Support arrangements can be scoped to the project and documented in the proposal, including what is covered and how requests are handled.

Can you train our staff to use the system?

Training and documentation can be included where agreed in the project scope.

What if there is a bug after launch?

The agreement for your project should define post-launch support, issue reporting, and any warranty period.
